Town fares, sedan and SUV: book a Hartford to Bradley Airport ride, reserved per car

Before you book a Hartford to Bradley Airport ride, look up your town in the table on this page: the office in Hartford, Connecticut takes requests for addresses in 36 towns, and each town has its own starting figure for a sedan and for an SUV. Every figure covers one car going one way. The car company that drives the ride then writes its own fare for your exact address, and that written fare is what you pay, with Connecticut sales tax on top.

One Connecticut car company with its own livery permit quotes, drives and is paid for each ride; it pays the office in Hartford a set amount for every ride it accepts, and riders pay the office nothing.

Starting figures per car, each way, for an address in each town. Road miles from the town center to the airport on a map router, not a drive time. Connecticut sales tax of 6.35% is shown beside each figure.

A from-figure is the starting price for an address in that town. The car company's written fare for your street, date and time is the fixed rate that counts, and anything it adds stands as its own line, for example:

  • waiting beyond the time the car company allows
  • an extra stop on the way
  • parking when the driver comes inside the terminal to meet you
  • child seats, if the car company charges for them
  • an airport access charge, if the car company passes one on
  • a tip, only if you choose to give one

Headcount picks the column

Each row is one town, and every figure in it prices a whole car rather than a seat. Two riders and five riders in the same SUV see the same SUV figure. A row also covers one direction: the ride out to the airport and the ride home a week later are two fares. Pick the column by headcount. Up to three people fit the sedan column; with four, five or six, read across to the SUV. A group of seven or more rides in two cars, each with its own fare, so call the office at +1 (860) 293-7514 for that.

Beside each figure the table prints the same amount with the 6.35% Connecticut sales tax added, so you see where the taxed total starts. Bags count as well: the car company says in writing when they call for the bigger car, and the page where you reserve an SUV ride from Hartford to Bradley Airport sets the two sizes side by side. Road miles in each row run from the town center to the airport on a map router; read them as distance and nothing more.

Your address sets the written fare

A figure in the table is a starting price for an address somewhere in that town. Two houses in Glastonbury can sit miles apart, and the date and the hour of the pickup go into the price too, so the table can only show where the fare begins. Once you send the form, the car company writes back with its fare for your exact address, date and time. That written fare is the fixed rate for the ride, the number that counts, and it holds once the car company has confirmed the ride in writing after your yes.

Anything extra, such as waiting time or child seats, shows up as a separate line in that written fare, where you can read it before you agree. The list under the table gives examples of such lines. If one of them puzzles you, ask the car company about it before you answer.

Town lines draw the edge

The service areas are the 36 towns in the table, and each one ends at its own town line. Connecticut has no unincorporated land, so every address belongs to exactly one town, and the town on your property tax bill is the row to read, whatever your mailing address says. Villages go with their town: Unionville takes the Farmington row, Winsted the Winchester row, Forestville the Bristol row, and Broad Brook and Warehouse Point the East Windsor row.

The office takes requests for addresses inside those 36 towns and passes them to the car company. An address in any other town gets a short written answer from the office saying it lies past the town roll, and that request stops with the office. When you are unsure which town a street belongs to, check the tax bill first, or call +1 (860) 293-7514 during phone hours and the office will look up the address with you.

Send the ride request

Found your row? Put the exact address in the form, with the date, the number of riders and the bags. Sending it asks for a free quote: the car company's written fare for that address, which you may accept or turn down.

A request that arrives at least 15 minutes before a run is answered in that run; one sent after 6:45 p.m. is answered at 7 a.m. the next morning. The form takes rides from the next day on, or from the day after next once it is past 6:45 p.m.; for anything sooner, call +1 (860) 293-7514 during phone hours.

Need a vehicle with a ramp or lift? Tell the car company when it writes or calls about your fare; it answers in writing whether one is available for that date.

Free quote, no obligation. Sending asks for one car company's written fare; nothing is reserved until that company confirms in writing after your yes.
